The contribution focuses on the substantial collection of drawings by Marcantonio Franceschini (Bologna, 1648–1729) held at the Gabinetto dei Disegni e delle Stampe of Palazzo Rosso in Genoa. The collection consists of seventy-six loose sheets, mostly anatomical studies executed in red chalk, previously analyzed by Dwight C. Miller and Laura De Fanti. In continuity with these earlier studies, the present article offers new insights into the history of the collection and presents previously unpublished images of drawings that can be confidently linked to known works by the artist.
