In this paper we defend scientific usefulness of monograph in recent studies about History of Art. We have adopted this measure taking into account the ‘state of the art’ in researches about Modern Art in Andalusia. We support this opinion with a special case: the monograph of Francisco Frutet, a flemish painter who was working in Seville in the middle of the Sixteenth Century. In 2012 we were fortunate to carry out a publication about this historiography phenomenon and we could show that this artist never existed.Downloads
