Count General Luigi Ferdinando Marsili, from a noble Bolognese family, was one of the most prominent figures in the history and culture of his city, where he stayed only for short periods but whose fortunes he greatly contributed to changing. In this text, the reality of the relationship of the great intellectual with the arts of drawing is addressed for the first time, as it was in his capacity as patron but also motivated by precise aesthetic and stylistic choices, conducted according to a knowledge that owed much to the frequentation of Carlo Cignani, Giovan Pietro Bellori, Carlo Maratti.Downloads
